The Last Class

We had our last video production class today and I'm a bit sad now..:> Sometimes I was angry during these two semseters because it really did demand a lot of time, actually more than any of the other classes and many times i felt that this is too much, but I know, I will still miss many things!

We watched today all of the videos we've made for the Vinetime company & I liked Elinor-Damla-Natela-BoB group's the most! But I'm not satisfied with ours at all..

Anyway, I'm very glad that I got some experience in filmmaking during this year but I'm happy now that the semseter is almost over as I'm a bit tired of not having a free day for quite along time now. Unfortunately, I don't feel that I've developed during this semester as I did so at the end of the previous semester, which makes me a bit sad. But I don't want to spend my time with grieving, now I hope I'll find a good job for the summer besides my placement to earn the money for my tuition fee which, let's hope, is going to worth it.

Shooting the 2nd music video #2

Unfortunately, we didn't manage to finish shooting the day before yesterday as the Sun set and we didn't like the lights afterwards.
The shots about Natela riding the bike are supercool, she was really great! Just like Damla in the car and now i feel we'll have a gorgeous video! I love the shots so much! Yesterday they shot me walking on the street and dancing a bit but this is what we went on with yesterday. The wind was so extremely strong that we were frozen by the end of the day. We had fun yesterday too but we were getting tired and that cold weather.. A big problem was that the Sun wasn't shining as it did on Saturday! So we started singing a song from the kindergarten asking the Sun to shine aaaand it worked! We did a really good job with shooting us dancing on the top of the colomns of the stairs on the embankment of the Danube and it was so funny how the cars passing by were sounding the horn and slowing down....:> We'd planned to have a scene with the three of us meeting at a crossroads but Natela couldn't unlock her bike as she'd lost the keys.. (many problems as usual) so we started think of changing our original idea a bit. But we'll see while editing.

Shooting the second music video

We were having a great time while we were shooting at the party, people were looking at us strangely of course as we were dancing like idiots in front of the shiny billboards, under the chandalier, in front of the mirror, etc... we tried so many things to make the shots light enough but they are just too drak. I hope we will still be able to use a couple of them, as I really love e.g the one in the crowd or when only our silhouttes are visible. We are going to continue shooting on Saturday with the street scenes.

The outline of the second music video

We decided that the basis of our video will be how three completely different people is turned on by the same music. Damla is going to be the serious, businesswoman-like character, Natela is gonna be the cool girl in extremely colorful clothes, and me as the foxy lady:) Damla showed me the music she has found and they just love it with Natela, but I have to admit that I hate it so much..I couldn't even listen to it till the end as when Damla started the song I took the earplugs out of my ears immediately after I'd heard the first tunes..:) But they like it so of course, it will be okey for me too. We are going to shoot first at a party which are going to be the final shots in the video. Damla could arrange through one of her friends that we will be allowed to shoot at quite a big party-I 'm curious what it'll be like!

Week 5

Today, we got into groups: I'm with Damla and Natela to do our second music video. We got instructions on today's class about the deatails

• for example it is not necessary to sing along but next time we will have to do so, so it could be a good practicing.
• this time we will have to focus on creating good characters, which I hope will work well as all three of us are really different
• focus on make up
• and setting.

We have already come together with the girls after the class, we came up with some ideas, first it was Damla, of course, who enthusiastically started explaining what has already come up in her mind..I love her:D We decided to go on telling each other whatever we think of and also that we should start searching for the music as soon as possible,because that may generate new ideas. I'm looking forward working with them again!

Week 1

Today we had our first music video production class, and got our first task as well: to shoot ANYTHING we would like to and put music under it. I am with Oksana, who I have never worked with before and I'm really glad about it! We haven't decided about anything yet, we'll see what comes out of it at the end..

Editing the Last Video

When had agreed to do the editing on Saturday aftrenoon. When I stepped into the room I felt that something is not okey. Anyway I will not put down what happened and what I think about it but it was a not not an easy thing to be in this group.

We were working for a long time of course and it was very tiring as usual but we could be working together very well with Meerim.

We couldn't finish it so decided to work more on it on Monday. But then for some reason we couldn't open what we had done so we finished it on Tuesday morning. I think it could have been a very nice video if we could spend enough time with both shooting and editing. I don't say that I don't like it but it could've been much better.. but I'm very happy that we managed to finish it on time and I'm glad that although we had many conflicts we are not in cross with each other.

Shooting on Week 12 #2

Today in the aftrenoon we met on Margitsziget to shoot the missing parts. The first problem was that I was late as I had to got to the gallery as both of the other girls were ill and I got a call early in the morning if I can go. Of course i went. The other one was that our actor couldn't arrive on time either as he had some serious personal problems, and actually, we didn't know if he would come at all.. So one of us got the idea to shoot an old couple as well,which idea I loved very very much and we also had to find a guy to cbe my man and clink with me:) So we started searching for the people with Meerim while Emese decided not to bother about our wish to leave out her idea of hanging glasses on the tree and putting a big sheet around the tree. We didn't like it at all but she really didn't care with it. She just instructed us to go and find the people in a way that I cannot tolerate after a while. She is not a boss but she often forgets about it. With Meerim we had fun while we were "casting" and we were so lucky to find a kind old couple!! They were really nice and I love so much the shots we made with them. They wouldn't like to have the glass-tree either so I simply led them to one of the benches and finally, we shot there. I asked a young guy as well and shot everything in about 45 min.s so we were really fast. Of course we had completely different ideas again concerning the camera moves, the angle,etc. but i just didn't want to have tension again - we left out the glass-tree and also the bottle-message as well so it is Emese shooting. Afterwards I left immediately as I was late from my class at IBS so I couldn't watch the shots - it will be a secret until tomorrow's editing time.

Shooting Time on Week 12

Fortunately, we got the opportunity to shoot in the Theatre Hall on Tuesday afternoon between two lectures. Everything would have been okey with the time unless Emese didn't call me before I had started to get myself ready to go to a fashoin designer's salon to get a beautiful dress for me to dance in for free. She had a very good idea as she was walking by that salon to go in and ask for a dress, and they agreed in return for some marketing of her name. so I travelled as quick as possible across the city and we spent quite a lot of time there putting on the dresses waiting for the owner - in vain. She was nice and we could have really got it for free, the only cost we would have had to cover was the cleaning - but we just couldn't spend 15,000ft on it, it would have been a waste of money for all of us. So i ran home & bought a top that we couldn't borrow & by the time I had got back to the school we hardly had any time time left before the next lecture was to start. We tried to be fast, and fortunately, nobody came neither to give nor to attend the lecture so we could stay longer. Some problems arose during the shooting as Emese said she would like to be the director, and things were going well at the beginnig but we imagined basically EVERYTHING in a different way. Actually, we had nothing in common, we didn't like each others' ideas and we somehow could not find the middle way, a compromise that has not been a problem in any of the groups I was in. For example, I would have liked to shoot almost only close ups of my hand moving, the skirt wavering as I raise my leg, etc., etc. I think it would've been beautiful instead of showing me in wide or medium shots, because then we should have had to make a choreography not to look as lame as it does in this way. Anyway, then we left to shoot outside on one of the islands the 'sitting together' part, but by the time we got there due to the stupid traffic jam the sum was not shining in that beautiful orange color we'd planned to have and the wind was blowing so much that we decided to leave the rest for another day. It was a bit difficult to find another day suitable for everybody, but it is Friday from 12:30-13:30 - which seems to be a bit short we simply cannot find another one..

Week 11

This week we got instructions in connection with our last project, the video for the vinery. We watched a short video which the "commissioner" liked very much and checked the lighting and camera moves shot by shot. I really liked some of the shots but we definitely decided not to use any similar ones in our video because we just would have liked to realize our own ideas.

We were sharing our ides with each other via e-mail and it was working quite well. Finally, we agreed on keeping the bulk of Meerim's idea with some changes added. We also agreed on that I would play the girl and Meerim's friend, Chez would be the boy. The core of the idea is that a girl is dacing and paralelly a boy is walking on the riverbank /or watching the girl in the audience we haven't decided yet and then meet/go together and having a glass of vine in beautiful surroundings, under a tree. At the end of the week we will have to talk to the IBS Stage people to let us shoot next week in the Theatre Hall, where we want to have the dancing - I hope they will be nice as we would really need just an hour or so.
